I spent last Saturday getting ready for a consignment sale. That means that I went through tubs and tubs of clothing that my boys have outgrown. Some of the things, even though they may not have been worn more than 10 times, hold a lot of sentimental value for me. I even found one shoe that Liam was going to wear to the finalization. One was lost in the DFW or San Antonio airport. I even found the pacifiers that my boys used before they came home from the hospital. And, yes, I seriously considered keeping them. Surely, I could get them dipped in sterling silver and wear them on my charm bracelet.
I struggled with wanting to keep it all. To hold on and not let go. Then I thought about some conversations with my friends about things that our parents or in laws have passed down to us...old baby teeth, used nursing pads, 30 year old stained clothing that we are expected to dress our children in, toys that are so old they most likely have lead in them, etc. And I decided to go ahead and let go, even if I really don't want to. After all, I have pictures of them in my favorites and those are better than a piece of clothing any day.

Liam's paci.
(If you are curious about the ring, Brent and I had just been to a marriage seminar. The speaker's son was born very premature and told us that his wedding band went all the way up to his son's shoulder. I was trying to get an idea of how small that baby must have been.) |

My favorite jacket of all time. |

I love that Jax can wear this jacket, Superman shirt and jeans now. We'll see if he can pull it off as well as Liam did! |

Jax must have had 40 of these one piece rompers. I loved them all. |

This hat and shirt will always be a favorite but the picture will always be better. |
 |
Love this shirt almost as much as I love this picture! |

My sweet boys. |
And later, I couldn't help but wonder, what am I holding onto that God wants me to let go of?
