393 nights

393 nights ago an adorable little boy that we call Jax joined our family and stole our hearts.  He is feisty, energetic, wiggly, sweet, clingy, cuddly (for 2 minutes or less) and fully of personality.  His amazing red hair is starting to get curly.  He can eat his older brother under the table and does at just about every meal.  He can play hard with the best of them.  He will steal your heart with his big blue eyes.  His laugh and giggles are contagious.  He loves his dog dogs even if they don't like him so much.  He is walking and starting to talk.  He loves his big brother and wants to be where ever he is doing whatever he is doing.  He could spend hours playing in the bath tub.  He adores his mommy and cries whenever I drop him off at school, the nursery at church, leave the room, put him down so I can go to the bathroom, etc.  He loves his daddy.  His face lights up when he gets home from work and often greets him with his arms in the air so he can be picked up.  He is our amazing gift from God who we never expectrd to have.

And I can count on one hand the number of nights that Jax has slept in his bed all night.  It actually only requires 2 fingers.  We thought that we were going to have a sleeper.  When he was a few weeks old, we would have to wake him up to feed him in the middle of the night.  Once our doctor gave us the go ahead to let him sleep through the night without feedings, it was all over.  He apparently missed us...and still misses us.

This is where his big brother has him beaten by miles!  He slept through the night at 2 months...and has never slept in our bed.

The little one, on the other hand, sleeps with us nightly.  He always starts out in his bed but by 4am (and that's pushing it most nights), he's in our bed and eventually goes back to sleep...after pulling my hair, sticking his fingers up my nose, crying, flopping around, slamming his head into my collar bone or nose, losing his paci, etc.  And then, when our alarms go off, we are dead tired and he keeps on sleeping.

So the girl who used to require at least 9 hours of sleep to function now can get it done on about 7 or less.  The less hurts a little more though!
