The city of Mansfield has ladder trucks with American flags on the front grill. I can't honestly say that I have every really paid much attention to them until last week.
Driving home from school, we were sitting at the stop light waiting to turn when Liam yelled, "Mommy, look a God Bless America fire truck!"
I saw the truck but not the flag so I asked, "Why it is a God Bless America fire truck?"
Liam said, "Because it has a flag on it! And, Mommy, I'm going to drive a God Bless America fire truck when I'm big. And, a red monster truck!"
My little boy is very observant and makes me proud with his very young patriotic spirit! I have no doubts that he will drive a fire truck one day if that is what he really wants. I'm sure it will have a flag too so that it can be a 'God Bless America fire truck'. As for the red monster truck, he can drive that too if it will keep him safe! From now on, I'm sure I'll always be looking for the American flag on our fire trucks!
